About Us

Merryall Center is an intimate theater and community center on a narrow back-country road in rural Litchfield County, Connecticut. Yet for over five decades, it has played host to luminaries from all over the U.S. We are told there is nothing like it anywhere.

Founded in 1951 by a handful of residents of an historic district near the border between New Milford and Kent, Merryall Center has dedicated itself to providing entertainment and enlightenment in a social surrounding. Today its supporting members come from communities far beyond the district, but they continue to contribute their personal lime and talent to orchestrate the programs, maintain the property, and serve as hosts and hostesses for the season's events. It is their physical and financial support that enables Merryall to offer its annual celebration of the arts to the public at large.
