The Doug Pet QuintetSaturday, May 08, 2010 Tickets (at the door): $0.00
|
| New Milford native Doug Pet leads this Boston-based jazz group, which features an artful array of original repertoire as well as jazz arrangements of traditional and folk standards. Doug's compositions are largely inspired by hard-bop swing, Latin American folk, and middle-eastern music in a contemporary jazz context. The group's repertoire and sound balance intricate melody and counterpoint with extended improvisation. The quintet has performed extensively around Boston and plans to record later in May. The group includes: Doug Pet (tenor/soprano saxophone), Vivek Patel (flugelhorn/trumpet), Jason Yeager (piano), Noam Wiesenberg (bass) and Michael Gleichman (drums).
